The donor couch (also referred to as “Donor Station DC 200”) from Terumo Penpol is designed to provide safety, comfort, and ergonomics for both the blood donor and the phlebotomist. It is especially designed to mitigate the risk of vasovagal (fainting) attacks: the couch’s design and controls allow the donor’s position to be quickly changed from “head-high, foot-low” to “head-low, foot-high” via a rocker (switch).
