When it comes to safe, accurate, and controlled delivery of fluids, medications, nutrients, and blood products, having the right infusion system can make all the difference in patient outcomes. Our range of volumetric infusion pumps is designed for healthcare environments where precision matters from high-acuity ICUs and operating rooms, to busy wards and specialty clinics.
A volumetric IV pump is a device used in hospitals to inject fluids and drugs into a patient’s body in a precise and accurate amount. It works by infusing IV fluid from a bag into the body in a set rate, which the doctor or nurse has predetermined (e.g., a rate of 50 ml/hour). Volumetric infusion pump ensures that the right and definite amount of drugs or fluids should be deliver to patient are needed are not exceeded or underestimated in the body. For instance, it can ensure that a definite and precise amount of antibiotics, which a patient in ICU needs for 6 hours, reaches the body in a steady and precise rate.
A volumetric infusion pump delivers fluids (medicine, saline, nutrition, blood products) into the patient’s vein in a controlled and accurate amount.
Simple Working Process:
1. IV Fluid Bag Setup
The IV bottle or bag is connected to the pump through IV tubing.
2. Programming the Pump
The doctor or nurse sets:
3. Controlled Flow Delivery
The pump uses a motor-driven mechanism to push fluid at the exact programmed rate.
4. Continuous Monitoring
The pump constantly checks:
5. Alarm System
If any problem happens, the pump gives an audible and visual alarm.
Here are the most important features hospitals should look for:
1 – High Accuracy Infusion
Delivers fluids with very precise flow control, especially important in ICU and critical care.
2 - Multiple Infusion Modes
3 - Advanced Safety Alarms
4 - Anti-Free Flow Protection
Prevents uncontrolled fluid flow if the door is opened.
5 - Large & Clear Display
Easy-to-read screen for doctors and nurses.
6 - Battery Backup
Works during power failure (very important in emergency care).
7 - Drug Library (In Advanced Models)
Helps reduce dosage errors.
8 - Compact & Portable Design
Easy to move between beds or departments.
A volumetric pump is not only an instrument, but rather an investment in the safety, precision, and efficiency of the healthcare system. Infusion volumetric pump delivers fluids contained in IV bags directly into the blood of the patient at predetermined rates and volumes.
